Cooking class at Palate Sensations

Just wanted to share how i spent my sunday with you all, it was Kexin's birthday and her boyfriend sam organized a mini 3 hour french cooking class at Palate Sensations.

So we were ALL 7 of us were late, lol Sam called them and told them we will be late and they were very accomodating and shifted our class to a slightly later timing.

Here's where the magic happens! All the ingredients were well prepared for us etc.

Here we go! Kexin the birthday girl, Sam, Alfred, Ein Ein & I.

That's Charlotte, the executive chef who would be teaching us that day.

Charlotte asked who would volunteer to chop the onion and was like ME ME ME, why does everyone hate to chop onions? Hahaahah It's weird but i love chopping onions and garlic or whatever nonsense.

And we're in charge of the French Onion Soup! Soup chefs of the day. hahahah

Leave the chopping to me but leon's in charge of "sweating" the onions and standing infront of the stove for 40 mins to stir the onions while i hop around and help with the apple tarts and whatsnot.

By then everyone is so hungry, our soup was almost ready and everyone was grabbing a soup and tasting our soup non stop. So yums!

Helped with the apple tart and could not wait for it to be ready!

Done with the cooking and we had a table laid out for us at the outdoor sitting of the school and we can finally taste our cooking woohooooo!

French Onion Soup with a twist.

Instead of just serving the soup with grilled bread with cheese, we oven grilled the bread and cheese laid on top of the soup so the bread absorbs the soup, so yummy!

Chicken Provencal served with Parsley Potatoes

Ahhhhhh and the best if all, the French Apple Tarts!

These are SO good i think i had 2 of them. Thank god the recipe and will go buy some mini tart tins so i can make this at home soon, recipe gonna be up when i blog about that!

Awww! Sam made a tiramisu cake for Kexin! So sweet he said he learnt how to make it from Youtube. It's super yummy please!

Such an awesome way to spend a sunday. Cook our own food, eat our own cooking plus no need to wash dishes! Hahahah

Makan Hunts: Dim Sum @ The Paramount & Dinosaur Live

Recently I've just been nuts about Dim sum & custard buns. Blogged about the delicious custard bun at Victor's Kitchen (click to read post) and Leon told me "Aiyah this is not even the best custard bun, I'll bring you to another even nicer one. That's really THE best custard bun"

Lol big claims! Hopefully it's as good as he claims to be uh!

Drove there and realized.. years ago i came here with him and his parents to have dim sum what!!! Chey, not a new makan place. hahaha an awesome dim sum place nonetheless.

So we came to The Paramount, it was about 12 noon and they were serving the dim sum menu yums, luckily we came just in time to beat the lunch crowd, after they were done serving all our dim sum we ordered the lunch crowd came rushing in. Phew!

Order! Order! Order! *bang fork*

Peach tea with some sort of sherbet on it and longan or lycee? I can never tell the difference haha

Oh I gotta say, this has gotta be the BEST Char Siew Puff I've EVER had. Even the ones i had when i was in a dim sum restaurant in Hong Kong. I want moooooooooore

Banana & crystal shrimps fritters. SO DAMN GOOD.

Red bean pancake with sesame seed. Bah this was only so-so, usually i would LOVE this dish but it's just OK.

Yay! My basic dim sum must have's!! Har Gao is SO yummy the crystal scrimp is so succulent. Hahahaha damn kiasu he ordered two basket of custard buns.

The custard bun here was like more salted-egg ish while the one at Victor's Kitchen is more custard-ish so it's sweeter!

I like the salted egg custard bun at Victor's Kitchen more but he prefers the one here.

Lol, we went to Science Centre for the dunno 3rd or 4th time together. Wth we're crazy i think we like to drive all the way to Jurong, spend money to go there and see damaged science-y exhibitions.

Usually their science exhibitions always this spoil that spoil one la! Damn lame hahaha but our main motive there was to go check out the Dinosaur Live Exhibition

I think he scared the bone-y and bare dino feel shy exposing his fine ass on my blog.

Woots, holy shit it's a bloody huge T Rex fossil.

Leon was like: "hey go there go there i take photo for you"
I replied: " Why in the world would i wanna take photos with a bag of bones?!" LOL!?

Hahahahahah, ok at the exit area there was a booth selling all the dino related stuff, dino rubber figurines, fossil excavating toys.. and.. GODZILLA?!?!!?!?

Whoa just left the Dinosaur Live area and walking over to science center and we saw this. Fire tornado, they told us it was invented by one of the staff in Science Center. *round of applause*

Went to Imax to watch the "Amazing Caves" and it was awesome! Always love Imax, always a cool experience even thou the films or documentary are always damn old and the people in it always have 90's hair and outfits lol. two decades ago one zzz.

Mystery Makan: Epicurious, Robertson Quay

Was my turn to organize Mystery Makan with the girls! It's one of my favorite brunch place, Epicurious.☺

They have two branches, one at The Rail Mall @ Bukit Timah and the other is at Robertson Quay, this was my first trip to Robertson Quay since it's easier for everyone to get to if it's at a central location!

Lucky us we got a table in like 5 mins! Annoying thing is that they do not allow reservations during weekend brunch. Bah feel so insecured without a reservation, imagine if we gotta wait like 30 mins for a table or so since they are usually quite packed.

Woots. Finally the good stuff came! We ordered 4 dishes to share, i think brunch menu is super affordable at Epicurious. The total bill came and it was only about $48+ so it was only $12 split amongst us 4 ladies!

Can't go wrong with pancakes sprinkled with icing sugar & soaked in maple syrup.

Choco-Nana Sandwhich, Nutella + Banana grilled sandwich topped with strawberries.

I think this is the breakfast burrito? One is bacon and ham the other one is cheese? Can't remember but it's good stuff!

Yay after brunch Esther and I accompanied the Brides-to-be Nadnut & Jacelyn to the bridal show at dhoby ghaut to look-see look-see.

Thanks for the email suggestion for topics of blog posts that you all would love to see on TheLuckiestChick and questions i've been receiving, recently I've received this qn that i could totally relate to..

Question from lovely reader, K: Could you please share tips on how you put on your daily make up and the products you'd use to tackle oily skin, because my make up always look so disgusting after awhile because my nose area will resemble an oil pit, hehe!

I totally get what you mean girl. Gosh oily skin is sooooo annoying! Make up never lasts long enough, even after cleansing and applying skincare after an hour max my face feels like an oiled-up frying pan.

Plus we're so prone to open pores etc but look on the bright side! At least we don't get "wrinkly" and experience "cracks" on your foundations etc as much as compared to dry skin!

I experience the "nose area will resemble an oil pit thing" too, but other than using a good makeup base, i'll just blot my face with tissue paper and touch up a little pressed powder once in awhile. But use tissue paper and not blotting paper alright? Blotting paper usually remove too much oil on your skin surface that your skin "rushes to replenish the oil" and it makes your skin even oiler.

Here's my skin care routine these days:

Toner: Garnier Milky Lightening Dew
I'd squeeze a small amount of this on a cotton pad and add a drop of Tea Tree Oil from Thursday Plantation and apply all over my face, I've been breaking out a little lately but it's been helping to keep "things in control"

Day Moisturizer: Lancome Blanc Expert Ultimate Whitening Hydrating Emulsion
Just reviewed it, click to read the review. But i'm loving the Moist version, absorbs really well and doesn't leave any sticky feeling, hydrates really well and brighten my complexion within 2 weeks.

Night Moisturizer: Elizabeth Arden Prevage Night Cream
Review will be up soon, but I'm loving this product! I'll apply the lancome emulsion then layer on with this night cream, one pump of this on my palms, rub the product between my palms to "heat it up" so it melts into my skin easier.
Love how this product makes my skin more refresh in the mornings even if i had insufficient sleep the nights before.

Eye: SK II Skin Signature Eye Cream
Eye creams are SO important! I'm not too sure if it's my imagination or what, but it seems like my eye bags are a weeeee bit small after using this product for a week, there's no miracle cream so i'll take my time and try this eye cream out for awhile more, but so far it does what a typical eye cream does, very creamy and hydrating but so far hasn't cause me any millia seed around the eye cream.

Lips: Burts Bee Beewax Lip Balm
I order them off drugstore.com because it's so much cheaper than Sephora, simply can't stand chapped lips so i always have to apply lip balms, love this lipbalm because it has this minty after feel and i love it especially applying after my shower. Make up:

Foundation: Chanel Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup SPF15
I bought this because I was so attracted to the "Long Lasting" factor since it's formulated for oily skin. Does what a foundation should, covers minor pimple scars etc well, easy to spread with a foundation sponge not too thick and gunky (eeew) as compared to M.A.C's foundation etc

Always set your liquid foundation with a good loose powder/pressed powder so your base is more likely to last longer. I'm using Ettusais BB mineral powder to set my foundation, I'd usually use my M.A.C 109 brush to apply my loose or pressed powder!

Sunblock: Lancome UV Expert GN-Shield BB Base SPF50 PA++ High UVA PPD
Wow, seriously Lancome?! Your product names are all such a mouthful!
Yeah it's marketed as a BB base but it doesn't really do a great job when it comes to concealing pimple scars etc unlike conventional BB creams. It's more like it's just a lightly tinted sunblock.

Nowadays i try to steer off from using foundations too often, so most of the time I'd apply the Lancome BB base, blot with a piece of tissue and set with a pressed powder/mineral powder/loose powder.

Concealer: ZA Concealer Perfection
This is my favorite concealer ever! It's not too thick, not too thin great to conceal any pimples/eye ring whatever, it's also dirt cheap! I think I'll always use this concealer till i die unless they discontinue this product. Choy! Bought concealers that are much more expensive like bobbi brown, but it's so thick and horrible. So I'd stick to my favorite tried and tested ZA concealer.

Eye shadow base: Too Faced Shower Insurance
Forgot to include it in the above picture but i love this Anti-Crease shadow primer! Since i'm such an "oily gal" haha, my eyelids are just equally oily too and eyeshadow does NOT last long with oily lids! Thank god for this product my eye shadow always last all the way.

Eye:

Eyeshadow palette: Too Faced Natural Eye Palette
My current favorite eye palette! This is my must-pack palette when I'm traveling because it has everything i need! Heaven is my favorite highlighter shade, Sexpresso is a great eye shadow shade and i use it to set my outer lower lash liner brown eyeliner, Silk teddy & Honey pot is a great inner lower corner eye shadow shade. A Must-Have!

Mascara Base: ZA mascara base
Loving this because it's full of fiber and makes my lashes look much longer and thicker, but not chock full of fiber that it gives my after-mascara-ed lashes the cockroach lashes effect everybody SHOULD avoid!

Mascara: Maybelline Stiletto (Lengthening) & Dolly Wink (Volumizing)
These are my two favorite mascaras at the moment. Doesn't give me any "panda eyes" too. Plus point for oily skin girl- ME!

Heated Curler: Panasonic Eyelash heated curler
This heated lash curler does MIRACLES! freaking awesome, makes your lashes curl like beautiful and looks so much longer something my normal eyelash curler can NEVER achieve. I ordered it on ebay but you can get it from best denki etc too!

Eyeliners: Ettusais Liquid Eyeliner WP & NYX Eye Pencil in Dark Brown
Ettusais Liquid Eyeliner, is LOVE! Even without the eyeshadow base this would not budge or fade even after a whole long day. I've even tried going to swim with this. It doesn't fade at all.

I usually line my lower outer corner lash line, the NYX eye pencil is cheap and does a great job, i usually set the eyepencil line with Too Faced palette shade Sexpresso!

Cheeks & Lip:

Blusher: Bourjois Paris in 74 Rose Ambre & NYX HD Studio Photogenic Grinding Blush in Sangria in Madrid
This two blushes are both very long lasting and well pigmentated, both in very wearable shades will be reviewing the NYX HD Studio Photogenic Grinding Blush very soon, it's quite a fun (but sometimes messy) product but i'm liking it more everyday!

Lip Tint: Etude House 55 Kissful Tint Chou
I LOVE using lip tints instead of glosses & lipsticks these days because they look so natural applied on your lips (in any case you've forgotten to bring your blusher out you can dab a little on your cheeks as cheek color too), it lasts forever even after eating and drinking. And it give a little pop of glossiness when applied too, without the sticky feeling of lipglosses, so kiss your boyf all you want without smearing gloss all over his face. heh

Lipstick: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Rivage
This lipstick is AWESOME! I've gone thru 2 sticks of this already it's like a lipstick & gloss packed into one. Very hydrating so you won't experience the awesome "cracked lips" look when using some lipsticks. Minus one point for not being very long lasting thou, gotta reapply pretty often.

Kite Flying @ Punggol Waterway

Went to fly a kite.. for the first time, on Christmas Day! Went to the Punggol waterway after church's Christmas Service. So cool! There's even a mini water playground around the area, damn cute.

Kite has a name! It's called Happy Box by the manufacturer, how cute is that?

Bah! But it wasn't super windy so we got our kite up like "midsky" then #fail already lol. First go at kite flying #FAIL! Boohoo. We tried again 2 days later and we got it really really high up thou! :D

Here's my Makan Hunts recommendation:

Drunken Chicken Hot Pot, the soup is SO GOOD. They are so generous with the chinese herbs which made the soup SO incredibly sweet and delicious.

The both of us would finished the entire pot of soup every time we're there for this. So damn good if you're the soupy type. I think it's about $35 for two person? I think it's enough for 3-4 people if you're not super into soups!

This place is located at at Level 1 along the entrance of the Hougang Green. (who'd know such a lok kok place like that would have such awesome food)

I don't really know what the name of the shop, but it's beside Pizza Hut and N&B plus the furniture and decor are all the woody, bamboo style, if you walk pass you'll definitely know that's the place lol.

Review: Lancome Blanc Expert Ultimate Whitening Hydrating Emulsion

Recently I've redeemed my Reebonz referral points for two beauty items, one is the Lancome Blanc Expert Ultimate Whitening Hydrating Emulsion and the other, SK II Skin Signature Eye Cream.

Have been trying out the Lancome Blanc Expert Ultimate Whitening Hydrating Emulsion for the past two weeks or so, and so far I've been loving it! ♥

The consistency of the emulsion is pretty runny, upon application it absorbs into the skin pretty quickly, I've got combination skin so having a hydrating but non-oily is great and love that it absorbs quickly and hydrates my skin well.

I got the Moist version but there's a Very Moist version for people with drier skin. *thumbs up*

After 2 weeks of usage i feel that my skin is looking brighter already! Doesn't really work to lighten pimple scars or anything but just brightening of skintone on the overall. ☺

After applying the Lancome Blanc Expert Ultimate Whitening Hydrating Emulsion, I'm currently using the Lancome UV Expert BB Base with SPF50+++ as my sunblock and it has a very light coverage, although it's a "BB Base" but it doesn't really help to conceal pimple scars etc like other bb creams does so it's really just good as a lightly tinted & high SPF sunblock.

Yay! the Lancome Blanc Expert Ultimate Whitening Hydrating Emulsion is definitely going into my permenant skincare routine. ♥

2nd visit to Bugis Essensuals ♥

Chinese New Year is just days away! So mad excited, gonna stuff myself with my favorite kueh lapis, egg roll & mummy's home made pineapple tart and pork floss roll muahahah.

Before CNY of course gotta go make my hair swee swee before meeting my relatives, since it's pretty much a once a yearly affair that i see all of them. Heh, so i went to Bugis Essensuals to get my hair done.

A fresh year = get a fresh cut and start afresh for a better year ahead! ☺

I recommended a friend to try out bugis Essensuals and he loved his haircut there and he told me he was pleasantly surprised when he went up to Essensuals (they are located at Bugis Village) and suddenly it transformed into like such a cool place.

They even have a comfy sofa area with a TV set up to entertain your boyfriends/friends/kiddo waiting for you while you're doing your hair services.

Wanted to trim my hair a little and freshen up my hair color, black roots were growing out and it's a no-no for me.

I'm a pretty low-medium maintainance kinda girl, i'd rather be out doing crazy things than sit around in the salon and do my nails/hair everyweek. So I'll always LOVE things that last. Especially hair cuts and dye. When i cut my hair I want the shape and cut to last for 2-3 months and the hair color to fade into sometime that's still wearable and beautiful.

My previous hair cut and dye done by Zoe 3 months ago was still looking great, people i met complimented the color my dark purple hair faded into (people described it as a strawberry ashy sort of color)? Hahaha but long story short, i love that the cut and color lasts me a long time so i don've to head to the salon and spend so much time there every month.

Heh, still looks ok right! So awesome.

So Zoe started to highlift my roots, basically it's the bleaching of the roots in a least harmful way. And true enough, during the whole highlifting process my scalp didn't tingle/itch/burn at all as compared to the usual ohsoharmful bleaching of roots.

Heh, hello. Looking silly but who cares. OTW to beautiful hair! ☺

So while i'm getting my hair roots highlift-ed and then dyed..

leon was tempted to get a hair cut too. Lol always hated his kam kam fringe which resembles a tortise shell. Prefer a short fringe for him! Looks more boyish and cute. hahah

Yay, always looking forward to my salon visits because Zoe is so interesting to talk to especially when you're stuck at the salon for like 2-3 hours for cut + color, you wanna find a great hair stylist that you have fun talking to and not a stylist that you feel awkward around. Time passes so much faster when you're having fun!

Bake Me Some Love: Whole wheat Honey Banana Muffins

Recipe:

3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons wheat germ (optional, i replaced it with instant oatmeal)
2/3 cup olive oil or 2/3 cup canola oil
1 cup honey
4 eggs
2 cups mashed ripe bananas
1/2 cup hot water

Directions:

1. Stir together dry ingredients (i added a couple pinches of nutmeg and loooooots of cinammon cos i love my banana muffins to have a little taste of spices)

2. Beat oil and honey together; add eggs and beat well

3. Add mashed bananas and beat to combine. I like to keep the bananas a little chunky so you can taste more of the banana while having the muffin. I had more than 2 cups of mashed bananas btw, more like 3 cups or 3.5 cups. heh

4. Add dry ingredients to wet, alternating with hot water; mix well after each addition.

5. Spoon batter into 24 greased muffin cups (I used mini muffin cups so this recipe yielded more than 24 regular muffin sized muffins)

6. Bake at 180 degrees C for 15 - 30 minutes, or until muffins are golden brown and test done.
Remove from oven and cool on rack.

These muffins are AWESOME. Next time I'd add a wee bit more honey/olive oil to make it more moist. Wholesome breakfast food. So yums I had these muffins with milk for breakfast 3 mornings in a row. :D

Packed a box of them for mummy to bring to work to share with her colleague too, haha her colleague LOVES homemade goodies.

Made some cute tag that reads "World's Greatest Mom" for a sweet surprise for mummy when she opens to eat it at work! Heh

Hope you're loving my new blog layout as much as me! Spent half the day fiddling with the HTML till 3am in the morning and my head my swimming with HTML codes and i couldnt fall asleep till 6am and I woke up at 9plus to prepare for sunday service.

Sydney, Australia Spring 2011: Day 5 Bondi Beach

It's Day 5! Last day in Sydney for me & Jess then we'll be flying over to gold coast for crazy theme parks etc!

We actually booked a session of hang gliding, all paid and stuff already, I was CRAZY excited for this because i thought this would be one of the highlights of the trip aside from surfing.

Well we were suppose to call in the morning to check with the hang gliding centre regarding the wind situation for that day, afterall hang gliding is ALL about the wind direction etc.. called them when we woke up and so upset to hear that the wind situation is not optimum for hang gliding that day, sigh.

And we weren't able to postpone the session either since it's out last day in sydney. Boo!

Look at this! So damn cool, unlike sky diving which is around the same price AUD200+ to AUD300 the whole falling process is only like what, 5 mins tops?

Hang gliding you just glide along with your instructor and stay up in the air for around 30 mins!

So since our hang gliding plans were off, decided to go to the CBD instead but after we had brunch at a cafe just along bondi beach, we wanted to go check out bondi beach although it was FREEEEEZING despite the good weather the day before when i was surfing and all.

Cold like a shit seriously. I just sat there and didn't wanna move forever because the winter wind wouldn't stop blowing and it's so much colder just standing up.

Crazy cold, i seriously don't know how she can take the cold and still run around so damn high and happy lol so Zai!

I'm wear so many layers, two pairs of leggings under my Zara PVC leather pants, boots, 2 layers of top and leather jacket and my teeth are still like constantly chattering.

They serve the yummiest milkshakes! ♥

Walked around bondi and found a cute little playground nearby the residential area, how i wish i have a house or even an apartment on bondi, so i can be there in spring, summer and totally enjoying my life man.

I miss you bondi beach! Heh, luckily i came back to bondi beach for 2.5 days after gold coast because i gotta fly back to singapore from Sydney.

Bondi beach is really.. really beautiful in spring man. I love it and i wanna go back again when spring comes. Truly beautiful and breathtaking. Will blog about those after my gold coast posts! (:

Woohooooo! Went for Yumcha with Nicholas awhile ago, haha knew him from the New York Skin Solution's photoshoot where i was doing styling for them a couple months back.

We're both fickle-minded/tummy piggies! Hahahah so yeah we were driving around and changing our minds about foodie places like for so long before i drove past chinatown and we were like "YUMCHA!!!!"

My dance experience: a couple of years of Ballet when i was young, go clubbing anyhow shake shake dance dance, weekly dance practice with JMD at NYP years ago, lol pussycat doll - don't cha! performance for my ex company's D&D

Hohoho, so one of my resolutions for 2010 is to go to advance class for Salsa & not slack of from being active and healthy and go for Zumcardio classes every thursday at Mosaic Dance School!

I've tried out various beginner classes at Mosaic Dance since i joined them at the end of September 2011, tried West Coast Swing, Zouk, Salsa, and fitness classes such as Zumcardio, pilates.

So far i'm LOVING it. Especially Salsa and Zumcardio. Haahaahaha, was a little intimidated by my Salsa instructor, Gupson at first but I'm enjoying the pace of the class and his teaching style now.

By the way, the most common question i get from people is..

Q: Do i need a partner to learn all the social dance classes that Mosaic Dance has?

A: Nope! It's a social dance class! Heh, even if you go in a pair you'll rotate partners too, that's kinda the fun part, make friends! (:

I always go to classes alone too, just be friendly and open..

Zumcardio is SO fun! Ange, the Zumcardio instructor is super friendly and seems to be super high and constantly pumped with energy, every time during class when i feel damn shagged wanna die cannot move from all the cardio dancing, and i look at how energetic she is, it makes me wanna move and dance like crazy. hahahaha

I mean if you're like me, you wanna start being more active and do more cardio workouts but, to me running is SO boring, i love it that Ange choreographs a new cardio dance every week so every single week we're learning new stuff and working/focusing on a different parts of our body, like abs, flabby arms , thighs etc!

Other than the stay active, kill/burn fats factor..

Somehow it makes me feel better and much more confident about my own body, staring at my reflections of my body movements in the mirror during the 1 hour weekly zumcardio classes.

Hahaha always feel damn shiok after the one hour class, hot & sweaty from dance but always love my rosy complexion after a good workout! ♥

I hope Mosaic dance would eventually have more fitness classes like body combat etc!

New year = New color!

Wondering what color i'm gonna do this time round, I seriously love my stylist Zoe!

My last cut was 2 -3+ months ago (Read it here: My first experience with Bugis Essensuals) and my hair still looks good and everyone loved and compliment my hair color, when it was freshly dyed in Rich deep purple and when it faded into the current pinkish brown. ♥

Should i chop off my fringe or keep it long? I've always like my fringe short but I'm starting to like it long but it annoys me half the time lol.

Help me decide!

Ok so Jessica & I did all our planning and booking of theme park tickets/activity etc before we left for aussie so we wouldn't be left with no plans and having the hey “i don’t know what do you want to do today?” conversations. Get straight to the fun!

But the bad thing was, i guess we were too over enthusiastic in planning the trip we packed it sooooo tight like when we were in gold coast we had White Water World, Dream World, Movie World, Moreton Islands Snorkeling & Sand-boarding, all full day activities packed tight in 4days.

OMGOODNESS NO TIME TO BREATHE hahaha. So imagine 2 weeks of back to back jam packed activities, waking up for tours in the wee hours of the morning like 6am to prepare etc.

So when you plan a vacation longer than a week.. please remember to give yourself a break from all the day tours and crazy activities! lol. Sam, Jess and I ended up with a flu when we were in gold coast because we were too tired from having too much fun?! lol. Sounds nuts but yes it happens.

Ok so before Jessica confimed that she will be joining me in Sydney, i did some research in case i had to travel alone in Sydney and since the apartment we rented was at Bondi Beach...

One night i was damn high from all the planning i booked myself a 2 hour beginner, The Bondi Surf Experiences lesson on Bondi Beach via Let's Go Surfing ( http://letsgosurfing.com.au/ ) a surfing school highly recommended on TripAdvisor.

Sometimes i think I'm just plain reckless, get way too excited and lose my brains on the way. I didn't actually think that the period of time I'm in Sydney.. it's the end of winter about under 10 degrees, it's freezing for me and i don't exactly have a high tolerance for the cold, and i just committed to a $99 surf class because i just lost my brains.

Apart from freezing my ass off from being in the cold wintery waters for 2 hours (not that bad at all since we were decked out in wetsuits), having bruises all over from getting whacked by the surfboard from every angle when we got "flushed" to the shore, the instructors from Let's Go Surfing was awesome and i had SO much fun and i even got to stand up on my surfboard made me so proud of myself lol.

Lol so... Reckless = Awesome surf experience! :D
Not reckless = Fidel stay in beach apartment to avoid the cold and rot.

Oh and made friends with this korean dude at the surfing lesson, who was in aussie on a working holiday visa, have been curious about the whole working holiday visa experience so i pretty much bombarded him with tonnes of questions and he was very nice to walk me back to my apartment while we chatted
because he was worried I'd lose my way around bondi. Aww

Another tick on my must-do once in a lifetime list (I should do a post on this for my
New Year's resolution post) :

And thankfully it was a beautiful sunday at Bondi Beach with a little sun so it wasn't SOOOO cold and miserable.

Seriously just look at those clouds. Serious shit, no PS at all.

I don't think I've ever seen such awesome clouds in SG. lol or we're just too busy and stressed out in SG for such a simple luxury like just sitting down and relax.. stare in the sky and look at the clouds.

Luckily the people at Let's Go Surfing was really nice to let me postpone my lesson from thursday to sunday because i woke up on thursday morning and it was FREEZING like 5 degrees how the am i suppose to get into the water when it's soooo cold!?

Oh and i realized I was at Bondi at the right time! Coincidentally it was the Festival of The Winds, it's a once in a year event if I'm not wrong? Everyone, families.. couples.. friends would just gather at Bondi Beach lay out a picnic and.. everyone flies a kite. (:

Oh no to mention the weekly Sunday Bondi Markets. Lots of interesting things to see too.

There were load of these humongous kites in shapes of killers whales etc, jessica would've loved it! But since i had my surfing lesson that morning, she was at the Rocks Markets (wanted to check out but no chance to) with Kew!

So sad i didn't have my camera with me since i didn't want to bring any valuables to the surfing class because you gotta deposit your bags at the surfing school and they didn't have lockers, these photos were taken with my iphone4. At least they weren't too scrappy eh? Hahaha.

New korean friend walked me back to my apartment and i went to shower etc and out of the apartment again to hunt for food! Lol surfing drained all the energy from me. Just wanted a quick meal so i can rush to check out the Bondi Market before it closes, so i had hot tom yum soup sooooo nice in the cold weather.

Fairy Floss! Can never resist sweet treats. (:

Was just walking around having bites of fairy floss and exploring the area and look what i saw!!!

It's so awesome how enthusiastic they are? Plan and event call Festivals of the Wind and everyone just turns up and fly a kite and fill the skies with beautiful colors. How awesome is that. But i wish singaporeans are more like this, more enthusiastic and fun. I wish singapore had the perfect awesome cooling weather and gorgeous beaches. I Wish, I Wish, I Wish.

Just sat down at a random grass patch, nomming on my fairy floss and people watching.

Another awesome day in Aussie.

Sun was setting and it was getting a little more chilly, Jess was still in the CBD with Kew so i settled down at San Churros to have a hot chocolate and Churros with choc dip!

So i was at partying at Butter Factory last week and there was this hugeeeeee eye-catching machine right beside the Butter Factory's entry queue and i couldn't help but checked it out..

Lol, kaypoh girl can't wait to try the flashy new toy thus the cheeky expression.

So there were pretty babes and hunks there to get people to try out the Last Man Standing machine, Nicole explained basically you just have to breathe into the breathalyzer and if you're the Last Man Standing, you're in the running to win a trip to Bali for 4! So get ALL your friends to go try it out to have a higher chance in hitting the jackpot woots!

So what does LAST MAN STANDING, TICKLED PICKLED, DITZY BABBLER, GIDDY GUZZLER, DRUNKENSTEINED mean? Basically Last Man Standing = a sober person. Hahaha as you go down the list it means you've taken some alcohol.. or too much!

LAST MAN STANDING –
This is where you’ve had one drink or less. Those who attain this stage, wins a instant dip in the bowl to win some cool prizes like vouchers etc, and only if you're in the Last Man Standing category you'll get to win the Bali trip for 4!

TICKLED PICKLED –
They’re close to being Last Man Standing but not close enough. They’re a bit high, happy and laughing is second nature. Sadly, no prizes for being second best.

Muahaha ok so it's finally my turn at the Last Man Standing machine after a little queuing!

Yep they do change the tip where you breathe into, so don't worry about it being unhygienic or anything.

Hoho, i'm a Last Man Standing, haven't had any drinks for the night before partying heh!

Got to have a go in the instant lucky dip and i receive a $10 Playnation voucher, gonna pass it on to one of my guy friends haha

Oh and to explain why i was looking so kooky up there.. i tried on these beer googles, basically to stimulate the visual of a beer loaded person.. hahaha i could hardly do a proper high five not to mention walk straight in a line! Quite a weird experience really hahaha.

Bumped into Michelle outside Butter Factory. Got to know the pretty babe when we were working for an event at One degree fifteen a couple of years back!

Hehehe, got her and her mates to try out Last Man Standing too!

Hahaha, of course she got Last Man Standing too, we don't need alcohol to get high and party do we? :D

Lucky Dip! Hohoho

Yay! another awesome night of partying.

Ok so let me share with you one of my most humiliating moments which involved partying & drinking. So this was about 2 years ago, one day before the eve of CNY I was at DXO with my boyfriend and a bunch of friends partying, and i was drinking WAY over my limits.. worst thing was i didn't even remember drinking THAT much, i just remembered puking all over my boyfriend, on myself, and thank god he was there to take care of me because it was really the first time i totally blacked out, i was practically sprawling on my boyfriend lap, he was sitting at the curbside waiting for the valet to fetch the car. Totally unglam, in my mini skirt and everything.

I think i puked in his car too on the journey back, when we reached his carpark he set me sitting on the stairs while he tried to clean out his car, by the time he was back i was lying on the floor with a pool of puke beside me. -.- And he still snapped a photo and kept it till now k, think he's gonna use it to blackmail me one fine day lol!

So when i reached his place, cleaned up, but puked all over his bed and by then i was vomiting blood and the worst thing EVER! lol my period came and i was totally out of it and unaware of anything. So he panicked like HELL thinking wtf why is she vomiting blood and passing out blood too?! lol INTERNAL BLEEDING? he even called the ambulance and everything :x

So turned out it was alcohol poisoning and it was so upsetting cos i lost my voice and i was feeling so shitty i couldn't enjoy the family CNY reunion dinner the very next day. ):

Not only didn't i enjoy the partying experience since i was so busy puking and being so high that i'm "out of the zone", made my boyfriend worry for nothing and tire him out since he had to stay up the entire night to take care of me since i couldn't stop puking from the alcohol poisoning.. not to mention.. so paiseh for the mess i caused at his place. :x

So.. after that horrible experience I became much more aware of my alcohol limits. Stop means stop, no more means no more. So much more fun to enjoy the music and dance my face off instead of chugging down alcohol and puking my guts out. Nowadays i try to even avoid drinking at all when i club lol, since i feel more sleepy than high when i drink alcohol anyway. SELF HIGH! HAHAHAH

Yay! Still looking refreshed from a night of partying!

By the way, Last Man Standing will be at Clark Quay this weekend! It will be at different club location every weekend, so if you're partying at Clark Quay this New Year's weekend, be sure to go try it out, you might be the lucky winner to the Bali Trip for 4!

So if you've been following me on twitter/instagram (my username is Fidelistoh for both accounts) you'd know i've been hanging out with Leon pretty much lately. We're not back together, but we're just dating, having lots of fun and enjoying each other's company really.

I guess it's just awesome dating someone who knows you the best really. I mean, we were together for 7 years. I know this may seem a little contradicting with my previous post about him a couple months back, i was pretty much pissed off and hurting post-breakup then, so i said a whole chunk of hurting things about him that i shouldn't have, for that I'm sorry..I'm sorry i hurt ya. ):

I've been meaning to replace my old rilakkuma screen protector cos it's really old and full of scratches, but i couldn't find them anywhere in sg anymore so when he found it in taiwan i was SO HAPPY!

Love it cos it's just the screen prfotector so it doesn't add to the thickness of the iphone as compared to using cases etc.

At Udders Serangoon Gardens the other day.. lol monster cone!

Starburst Chews! He tried to get my favorite starburst babies but they weren't available, but the chews are surprisingly yummy!

But who am i kidding. I'm like the kid who loves ANY candy lol! Like i care if it comes in the form of babies gummy or candy chews! And cute rila iphone buttons!

I was craving for Salted Egg Custard Bun and he brought me to satisfy my cravings the very next day hehe.

Victor Kitchen is located at Sunshine Plaza Level 1 and it's the BEST seriously. Other than the Salted Egg Custard Bun you gotta try the XO carrot cake too!

We were at Winnie's birthday party at Capella and one of the photographer, Hendra shot this.

So i was thinking of what would be a meaningful xmas gift for him this year, since he'll be traveling alot next year for work, and he complained that he's breaking out from sleeping on the hotel's pillowcase etc..

So i bought a set of pillowcases from Tommy Hilfiger and embroidered some stuff on it myself. Lol it's really my first time embroidering anything, so I'm pretty proud of it although it looked pretty whacked! hahahaha

But he thought the embroidery was customized and done by Tommy Hilfiger k! So must be pretty ok? LOL

Ugh don't know why i totally forgotten to take a couple of shots before giving it.
But anyway i had fun surprising him, arranged for the gift to be couriered to his place around the time that he usually wakes up hehehe

Really glad that he loved it, hehe he called me the minute he got it and he was still groggy from dreamland and he said he used it immediately heh

Went out that afternoon and we were at Lush @ Wisma Atria, he told me that i could pick anything i want as my christmas gift! If you've been following me on twitter you would know i am a HUGE fan of Lush.

After a LONG time i picked the You Are A Star boxset and it comes with all these awesome products that i simply cannot wait to try out!

I've been a good girl this year, can't wait to open my presents but they are sitting under our Christmas Tree with Mr. Santa who has been under that tree every christmas since i was a little baby.. hehe taking good care of my precious xmas gifts..

I just came home from a house party where we did our countdown and all (blog about it another time) and I'm waiting for mummy to wake up in awhile so we can open our presents together on Christmas Morning!

Christmas 2011 decors

Hehehe, in a good mood today!

Last night i helped mummy fix up the christmas tree and all the x'mas decors. It's the time of the year again!!! Have you done your x'mas shopping yet? I'll probably go look see around abit later after my Salsa lesson at Mosaic Dance School .

Just gonna share some of the photos i took of the x'mas decor last night, the warm feeling of the x'mas decor and blinking lights never fails to make me a happy girl! (^_-)

The Snowwhite x'mas tree ornament has been around and hanging on our x'mas tree since i was a little baby. Still looking good after 21 years haha.

Hahaha, when my mum pulled Mr Santa out from the x'mas ornaments box she said in a manly voice "Hohoho, HI I'M BAAAAACK!"

Lol, i've seen this santa under my x'mas tree since i was a little kid!

Hello, How was your Monday?

Hope the Monday Blues aren't hitting you too hard!
I started my day in the gym working my ass off and i'm aching all over
but it's an awesome kinda ache yeah. :D

So a couple of weeks ago Les Affairs was really sweet to organize a little "Girl's Night In with Esther" and thanks Esther for inviting Nadnut & I, along with two other readers for this little get together.

Hehehe, i'm terrible. I think i finished the whole bowl of Royce marshmallow dipped in white choc, hahaha it's my favorite!

So we got to choose anything from Les Affairs, and i topped up abit and got myself a sweet nightgown. Very comfy! This is how the top looks like, hahaha i was playing with my hair and trying a different parting to see if it suits me btw!

Sydney, Australia Spring 2011: Day 3 Part two

Part two of Day 3, we were at the blue mountains, and we traveled over to a little charming town called Leura. So many cute & charming little shops! And pretty flowers for jessica to go crazy snapping her DSLR at!

Woohoo! out of the tourbus, Leura here we come!

Oh i totally went crazy here. The Candy Store! Bought so many packets of the eucalyptus candy leon's sister sent back from aussie previously. omg yums. there were like HUGE ASS palm sized jaw breakers etc. Madness!

Then we went to a local sports club to grab some lunch and watch old people playing balls. lol forgot the name of the game, but i heard that the elderly there take the game of balls damn seriously hahah.

Featherdale Wildlife Park. I honestly think our tour is really value for money, morning tea, the tour trip to blue mountains, lunch, wild life park entrance fee all included in the package!

The Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards 2011 is coming this December!

After reading nadnut's post on the NAPBA 2011, i soooooo wanna go too!
How awesome would it be if i could catch up with all the bloggers in one night, at one place?
It's gonna be one huge ass camwhore fest. hahaha

I had lots of great times as a blogger under nuffnang these couple of years, let's look back at some of the fun nuffnang event i've attended, not many.. but i'm thankful that i've gotten to know so many awesome people through blogging. (:

The last nuffnang event i went to was the Whisper Pampering Night at Oosh and we were treated to manicures, pedicures, hand paraffin and the shiok-est of all, MASSAGES!

And of course we camwhore like mad with valerie's DSLR & ring light, can't miss a great photo op like that can we? (:

Had an intimate dinner with Nuffnang's founder, Ming and fellow bloggers Esther, Jessica, Jayden & Valerie at Ma Maison!

Nuffnang's blood drive a couple of years back, i didn't donate any blood because one of the little things that i actually fear are needles.. and the blood flowing out into the blood bag.

So i went to gave my support to my fellow blogger friends *HOLD POM POMS AND CHEER* ... and also made little prayers and hope that nobody faints for donating blood, afterall it's for a good cause right?

So anyway I've been taking some dance lesson from Mosaic Dance, i'm still at the beginner level for Zouk and West Coast Swing but so far i'm having fun!

Car wash!

LOL Ok the other day i tweeted about having a really stupid question that was stuck in my head. You know the soapy water the people at the car wash use to wash car right?

... is that like dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent or showergel etc.. cos i wanted to wash my car but i don't know what to use?! HAHAHAHA Don't judge ok! I've just never washed a car on my own in my whole life how i know got car wash liquid one! hahahaha

So i drove to the nearest petrol kiosk and bought the most chio car wash liquid EVER!

LOL! SEE GOT GOLD BLINGY BEADS DAMN CHIO CAN!

Btw previously leon gave me this Rain.X liquid thing for the glass so it's rain/water treated and when it rains the water beads would kinda "lump" together so it's easier to see even when there's heavy rain.

So this car wash liquid was from the brand Rain.X and i think it's working very well for my car!

Especially on rainy seasons like now, previously when i go to those car wash at the petrol kiosk to let them wash my car, after 2-3 days my car gets dirty real quick, like after rain will have water stain etc. But after i washed my car with the new car wash liquid after so many days, rain & shine my car still looks soooooo clean and shiny.

Awesome, now i know why people actually give a damn and wash their cars on their own.
I would too from now on!

Hahah i went swimming the other day, and wanted to shower when i get home and not at the swimming complex, so i just dried myself as much as possible, put on my top and shorts over my wet bikini and drove home..

LOL Now my driver's car seat has my "butt-sized" chlorinated water stain. FML

And i think I'm really sibeh boliao, just swam for 45mins & I went to MacD drive thru to grab some grub- craving for the hot & spicy shaker fries. (-｡-;

See! My new rilakkuma carpet in the car! Haha bought this fluffy cutie when I was at takashimaya with min & meixi last week. (*^_^*)

Everytime somebody new takes my car they will go:

Hahaha, the other day i was at danny's place using his toilet cos we were having his bday bbq downstairs and his gf Trixy brought out 3 of her rilakkuma from the room and said come i show you my rilakkuma(s)!

I was cleaning my boot and for the first time i lift the boot thingy and i realize for the first time.. i have a spare tyre in my boot!!!!! Did not know that man!

Damn.. now the problem is.. if i ever have a flat tyre, i also don've strength/don't know how to change tyre what! Cheeeeeeey.. -.-"

It was drizzling slightly when i was washing my car, but even with the nice windy weather i was perspiring like crazy, hahaha walking human rain. Think i don't need to go to the gym ever, just wash car once a week would be a great workout for me lol.

Sydney, Australia Spring 2011: Day 3 Part one Blue Mountains

Hello! Ok back to my awesome two weeks trip in Aussie,
if you've not read the previous Aussie travelogue yet, here's the link to DAY 1 and DAY 2.

Initially my plan was to spend a couple of days in Sydney, then take a 3 day road trip tour traveling towards Melbourne to visit my friend, Weixin who's studying in Melbourne now, the itinerary was really interesting, included a Wildlife Safari trip, skiing in the snowy caps of Victoria etc, but anyway change of plans when Jessica confirmed her trip to Sydney with me!

Most of my trip research was done on Tripadvisor.com and i was looking through the top things to do and for Sydney one of the must-do's is a visit to the Blue Mountains.

One of the most recommended tours was with the Blue Diamond Tours, i like it that the group was kept small and cozy. Can't stand those noisy large tour bus.

Anyway the itinerary was pretty well planned and i think it's totally worth the money since lunch and all is included in the tour pricing. Anyway we both took so many pictures on that day i gotta split this post into two posts, even with Jessica's camera running out of battery during mid tour we still had SO much photos omg.

Lol started the morning by "stealing" Jessica's shortbread ,
nomming on the sofa while Jessica got changed and ready.

If i did not remember wrongly our tour operator came to pick us up at 7am Aussie time which is like.. 4am Singapore time.

Thank god our body clocks are pretty well adjusted by then and we didn't oversleep or anything. Hahahah, poor Jessica gotta put up with me rambling non-stop throughout the night thou, i er... sleep talk.. ALOT. Hahahah and other than sleep talking.. i also laugh in my sleep... ALOT. :x

Anyway it was about a 2 hour car ride to the Blue Mountains from Sydney, we were the first group to be picked up at bondi beach, then to the CBD to pick up other holiday makers like ourselves!

Hahaha, crazy coincidence, i met a newly-weds couple from the city tour the day before, and imagine how shocking it was to see them again at the Blue Mountains tour!

So once we've picked up everyone and the tour operator hit the highways i started to "fade away" and manage to catch some sleep hahahah, didn't wake up all the way till we were almost reaching a charming little town near the Blue Mountains which we would have our morning tea at this charming little bakery!

Goodness. The first thing i felt was COLD COLD COLD once i got our of the nice warm, toasty mini tourbus, and i was wear a tank top + long sleeve thermal top from F21 + long sleeved waffle hoodie from AE + Leather jacket from Berska + thick leggings underneath my pants + PVC leather pants from Zara + Socks + furry Eskimo boots.

LOL WTF after wearing all that layers and i was still freezing! Jessica was only wearing long sleeve top + knitted cardigan + long skirt and booties. WTF

Morning tea at the cute little bakery!

Hahaha the cute couple i was talking about earlier than i met on the city tour the day before. So not only Singapore is small ok, the whole WORLD is small!

We had really yummy scones, my favorite pretzel & some nice hot tea.

Hahahah i was pretty amazed and how fresh and yummy the scones were because in Singapore, the scones i've tried are generally almost hard like rock and just not too appealing.

After our morning tea, everyone was full & satisfied and we heading over to Scenic World, where we would begin our tour at the Blue Mountains by enjoying the view of the Blue Mountains via Scenic Skyway.

Hahaha this girl is seriously cute. I think her excitement takes over her completely all the time, like only after she got in the Scenic Skyway and after awhile she remembers her crazy fear for heights, only then did she start hyperventilating. -.-

The view is truly breathtaking. I wish i could stop snapping my camera and stay still and just enjoy the beautiful view of the hazy blue cast of the Blue Mountain but i just can't - gotta snap some pics to preserve these memories!

Hahaha, i look like a freaking bun wearing so many layers of clothes, but no choice!
Either i look like a bun or i freeze. Lol, comfort is more essential.

Muahaha, after the Scenic SkyWay we headed to the Scenic Railway, which is really the STEEPEST railway in the world, there's no seatbelts or safety bars that would press your legs down etc btw, there's only like a overhead metal "grill" thing.

Hohohoh. can't wait! I think years ago leon told me about this and i can't believe I've just got to try it!

Lol it was really damn steep and fast, only got to take two shots when it was going down before i chuck my camera side and hold on to the bars for dear life. hahaha

So we started the forest walk and our tour operator was telling us about the history of blue mountains, how it used to be a coal mines and the dangerous parts of the jobs like how they released birds into the coal mines to check if the level of oxygen was way to low for humans to go in etc. Scary!

So there were like 3 paths we could choose to take to get to the end of the trail. There were the straight forward one about 10 mins walk, we chose the 20 mins walk and there was one for the 30 or 45 mins walk detour that you can probably see more stuff.

LOL my hair is so freaking red.

Lol even the blue mountains skyway operator is so friendly. I think i would be happy and nice to everyone if i work in a place like that too. Just enjoy the gorgeous view every single day after day, how envious.

Was out with my ex-colleague, Min the other day, lunch + shop around + bitching session then we had ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery @ Orchard Central. We shared a Cotton Candy flavored ice cream + Gummy bears & Kitkats! Yums.

So Min decided to drop by her boyf's Dwayne campus while he was having his Ultimate training. Yeah i know, what's ultimate training? It's basically frisbee.

I didn't know anybody plays frisbee as a real sports!!! Had a good laugh when min initially told me lol cos i thought people only play frisbee with dogs.
And she said his mum will tell him :"今天又要去玩那个狗玩的东西哦！"
Which translates to " You're going to go play that thing DOGS play with today?"

LOL!!! WTF

Last week we met up again, this time for dinner at Brewbakers, was talking to Alvin from XPR at the Singtel Bloggers event i attended and i was complaining that there's no cool cafes and nice places to hangout with friends around hougang/sengkang/punggol area, so he introduced me to one of his favourite hunts, Brewbaker's.

Brewbaker's. they are basically a bar, restaurant cafe place. Even has a pool table that you can play after dinner with friends and has a huge screen showing football and it's by the punggol/sengkang waterway so it's pretty nice & relaxing when the weather is good/cooling.

Lol there's the gym on our left facing the restaurant, so sad for them, they are like dying and running on the treadmill and working out and looking at the people having their meals at Brewbakers. LOL

Mmm. my beef ribs with wedges was pretty yummy, the beef ribs were well seasoned and tender, but not as tender as the beef ribs i had in Pancakes on the Rocks in Sydney - but good enough. and the wedges were really crispy! Noms.

Oh and i do love the sauce for the beef ribs. Can't really remember what sauce is that thou.

They tried the marybrown chicken and another main which i can't recall! They said it was pretty good too.

So cute they shared a banana split, for some reason i haven't touched a banana split since i was in primary school!

Yay, Warm apply crumble with ice cream, i request for mango ice cream instead of the usual vanila, yums. Love the apple crumble.

So somebody was boasting that he can tie double cherry stalk knots with his mouth so we asked for one to see if he can really do it!

LOL

Eh still in the process of tyingggggggggg. After a long wait...

Lol bluff! One knot only where got double knot. Ok la, clap clap for the effort. Haahah

Attended an evening tea session with Elizabeth Arden awhile ago, it was held at Naumi Hotel, my first time @ naumi hotel, couldn't find carpark thou! Boo, why no carpark lots one.

YAY to berries! Antioxidant boost for the evening!

So cute they prepared these little bears for us guests along with our goodie bags, my bear is playing with my guinea pigs now haha just the right size so my guinea pigs will lie on the teddy's belly or legs and fall asleep sometimes, it's soooo adorable!

So the dress code was slumber party - comfy sleep wear!

It was a nice evening, us 6 ladies gathered around and listening to tips and advices from Elizabeth Arden's rep all of us in comfy sleepwear and pretty much relaxed.

Yay we got to bring home and try out the Elizabeth Arden Gold Capsules, do you know that these plumping firming ampoules have been around for a long long time? Maybe you've even seen your mummy or grandma use this product.

We were told that through time the formula for this product has never been changed, because results proven that the formula works wonder for many, so only the packaging and all has changed.

After all, I'm only 21, i didn't expect wonders because i do not have much wrinkles etc at this age, but i love it that although it's oil based - the oily feeling goes away after you massage your face just after awhile. It does not leave your skin feeling sticky and oily at touch. Since i have oily skin, products that feels oily to me is usually a big no-no!

I used this everyday when i was in Australia and it was so cold i guess it was one of the reason why my sensitive skin did not act up even thou the weather was so harsh on my skin.

Do you know you can use it on your hair and dry parts of your body like your elbow, knees, ankle if you have excess or you can use ampoules just for those areas if you're too rich lol!

Personally after i apply on my face and neck i will still have a little excess i would apply some on the tips of my hair and rub it into my hands. Don't waste the precious stuff. hahahah

Sydney, Australia Spring 2011: Day 2

Day 2 in Aussie!

So i was suppose to have my beginner surfing lesson on Bondi Beach that morning, but i woke up a wee bit late plus it was FREEZING, i was wearing thick leggings, long sleeved shirt dress & socks in our apartment and it was still too cold. Cannot imagine dunking myself into the freezing waters in Bondi Beach so i called the surfing school up and told them i needed to postpone my lesson because it was too cold. Lol

So i did some research on tripadvisor before the trip and found this free city tour listed as one of the top most do tours, really good reviews and well it's free what's the harm? (:

Caught a bus from our apartment to the Bondi Junction train station, then a train to Town Hall just a couple of stops away..

So i alighted at town hall, followed the signboard at the train station and came out thru one of the exits, crossed the road and here i am at town hall!

Oh when you're there, look out for a lady or guy in a bright green tee like this!

So we started the tour from here, our tour guide Justin was really funny and i got to learn lots of interesting facts of Sydney that i would not have known if i hadn't been on this tour.

Loved that the I'm free tour wasn't all about boring old ass history that happened eons ago but i had a good laugh at all the funny interesting stuff.

I would really recommend this city walking tour if you would like to explore Sydney in a more fun, interesting way. (:

Lol apparently this Pig thing was donated to the Sydney Hospital by some country (i can't remember) and back at that country it was believed that you'll get good luck if you toss a coin there and rub his nose. Hahahah awww got rubbed so much the nose has been rubbed golden!

Just sitting by the harbor and enjoying the nice weather! How i wished Singapore was like that. As if i can walk around around singapore for 3 hours and not break into sweat, sit at some random place to enjoy the beautiful view.

So since I'm already at the Circular Quay, went to Sydney Opera House to check out if there's any interesting musicals etc, but there was only a symphony and a french opera.. so symphony it is!

Went to the Guylian cafe along circular quay for dinner, had a hot choc and a mushroom/ham quiche!

Heh, got this cute bunny knitted bedroom slippers/socks from F21 to warm my freezing toes!

baby & guinea pigs!

Brought one of my guinea pig, Butter to the vet last week because i suspected that she had a ovarian cyst, initially i thought her dropping of fur was simply due to old age, afterall she is around 5-6 years old already, but after i came back from my Aussie trip, the side of her belly seems to be getting bigger and bigger and i went to google her symptoms eg: hair loss on the both sides and swollen side at both side of the body.

So the very next day i brought her down to The Animal Doctors to get her checked out, did an x-ray & ultrasound and yep, confirmed that she had ovarian cyst and there was no way to avoid surgery, but i was so afraid something might happen during the surgery or she wouldn't recover well so i got really upset, thank god jeremy was there with me. ):

Jeremy waited with for me around 4-5 hours and the clinic called and said that butter is awake from the anesthetic, still weak but the surgery went well and the ovarian cyst was really really big, the vet took some pics of the cyst with her iphone and it was really freakishly huge for a little animal her size, my poor baby butter. ):

So after the surgery butter has like a 5-6 cm long stitch on her underbelly and we were instructed by the vet to keep her separate from the rest of the guinea pigs for at least a week and in a smaller confined area so she can't move about much and risk tearing the stitches etc!

Got a plastic tube and lined it with soft bedding, here's her "hospital wing" for the week:

lol, Cute much?! All the essentials packed in a small area, teddy bear for her to lie on, small bowl with food, hay and water bottle. Poor butter looking so thin after the surgery, huge contrast as compared to when she had the cyst!

Butter was still very stoned from the surgery but when we chopped some veggies she started to perk up, phew i was really relieved that she seemed to be doing well and if she's eating then it's definitely a good sign.

We were worried that she might get cold or something so we covered her with a blankie!

LOL, butter all wrapped up like a bun.
It's been one and a half week and butter's pretty much fully recovered and is back to the big cage with the other piggies!

My 21st birthday: Party planning tips

So I've celebrated my 21st birthday like.. 3 months ago, and I've not blogged about it, but it was such a great party and i really enjoyed myself! Thanks to all my lovely friends who showed up and i hope you had a great time at the party. (:

So i thought of doing a party planning tips blog post after sorting out some photos, so here are some of the important planning points:

I started planning my birthday like probably 3 months beforehand, because i planned to have my party at one of the bungalows at NSRCC, because the bungalows at NSRCC is in pretty high demand so i got my friend Chris to help me book it around 3 months in advance, mad kiasu but at least no need to stress about losing my party venue at the last minute!

NSRCC requires a min. booking of 2 nights per booking so i had to book 2 nights and with the Safra membership the booking came up to around $900 including a refundable $100 deposit.
I think it was quite a great party venue, modern looking, great lighting, good amount of space so it's not too crowded and uncomfy for your guests, well equipped kitchen etc.

On Day 01, checked in NSRCC at around 2pm and started to decorate and i was preparing my desert table, thanks to Mummy, Chris, Christy & Evan for helping out with my decor. My party wouldn't have looked so awesome without y'all! (:

I had a Mardi Gras theme, which is basically a masquerade parade with people wearing lots of beads, masquerade masks, too much alcohol and the Mardi Gras theme colour is Purple, Gold and Green.

The Photobooth was really fun to take some really awesome shots with my friends too, made some cool photoprops that we had fun playing with while camwhoring at the photobooth, thanks to Shirley's 21st birthday party idea!

I had a dessert table for my friends to "play" with...
chocolate fondue, cotton candy machine!

We also had quite a crazy time playing Chubby Bunny with some peeps marshmallow chicks! Me VS Jessica & Leon VS Sam! Go see my facebook album for the photos lol

Food was catered by One Paradise, chose them because the food presentation's awesome, my second choice for catering would be Neogarden.

... and no party is complete without alcohol!

Definitely get lots of mixers, red bull, ice, chips, tacos & dips.

Many of you have been asking for the recipe to make Jello Shots, so here you go:

3oz box of Jell-O mix (click here for pics)
i tried the strawberry, blueberry and lime flavours, you can get them at Cold Storage.

1 cup of hot water
1/2 cup of Vodka (put more for stronger jello shots)
1/2 cup of cold water (put less for stronger jello shots)

Open the Jell-O mix, pour into a bowl, add hot water, mix till jello crystal melts.
Add the vodka and cold water, mix and pour into the mini plastic shot cups that you can get from SKP, get the 100pcs pack -it's cheaper!

I used the basic recipe and plain normal vodka without flavors, but you can experiment with different combination flavors of the Jello & Vodka, you can find more recipes HERE.

Love Jello shots cos they looks so harmless but are actually spiked with tonnes of alcohol, fun!

And Danny helped me with the sound system and did a great mix for the party, loved the music!

Sydney, Australia Spring 2011: Day 1

I've been traveling for quite a bit this two years, just a couple months before my australia trip i went to Bangkok and Hong kong for work, so i guess nowadays to me traveling is not that exciting anymore, for now checking in, waiting at the airport, customs screenings are just so tiring and bothersome. ):

I used to be sooooo excited i couldn't sleep for nights prior to the trip, every night i would just lie awake in bed and fantasize and dream up of all sorts of ways i'm gonna have fun in the new exciting country.

I guess that's one shitty part of growing up- you just don't dream anymore.
Missing the excitable, giggly me.

Anyway! I was be in the middle of my aussie trip when boyfriend and my first monthsary happens. Booooo, can't celebrate.

So we were soooo sad that we won't be able to see each other for 2 whole solid weeks, afterall we've see each other every single day since we've been together hahaha, like seriously every single day. So my last day in Singapore was spent lazing at boyfriend's place, i can't really remember but i think boyfriend cooked for me? Or not? lol he has been making me breakfast very often so i can't really recall.

Was really lazy to go get my nails done before the trip, but i didn't want to have clean boring nails for 2 weeks either so painted my nails gold bling and boyf painted my toes! hahaha

Whoops, quite a scrappy job but who gives a damn, it's my toes nobody ever notices the toes anyway!

Boyf accompanied me to the airport and we stayed at coffee bean all the way almost till i have to get in to board the plane.

Some caramel mad sinful drink + lotsa whipping cream for me.

Last photo before i'm gone! Errr not wearing eye makeup cos it's a 8 hour midnight flight and i was hoping to sleep through the entire flight but of course it was impossible since we keep getting woken up to eat snacks, supper, breakfast whatever.

Wore knee high boots and people keep asking me if i'm heading to Japan, lol only can wear boots to japan meh!

Anyway it was a pretty smooth flight for me, but i just got to sleep for like probably 3 hours max throughout the whole flight, seriously do we really need to eat that many times on a 8 hour flight?!

Ahhhhh, finally landed and the first thing i was looking out for was Optus or Telstra apparently they are the best pre-paid provider because their connectivity is the best.

Optus is located just outside the customs exit, very obvious yellow 'Yes' Optus sign.

Did some research and Optus has the cheapest pre-paid plans, awesome for travelers!

At only $2 AUD per day, you get unlimited DATA, CALLS & SMS (within australia of course) but i only needed the unlimited data! Whatsapp, Viber, Twitter, Facebook. YAY I'M CONNECTED TO THE WORLD!

So since I'm staying for 14 days, i had to get the $30 prepaid value, no worries if you're an IPhone user, they have the mini-SIM cutter and the pin to open the SIM compartment on your IPhone.

Yay, get to chat with boyfriend 24/7 even when i'm in Aussie and whatsapp mummy everyday and update her with pics heh.

Followed the signs and found the train station, omg the train fare from international airport to Bondi junction is around 17 AUD + 2 AUD for the bus from bondi junction to our apartment at Bondi Beach. The train ride is mad expensive or what!

So if you have 2 pax or more, cabbing will be more worth it. From airport to bondi junction on cab is around 50 AUD?

Waiting for the train, my luggage is already a whooping 20kg when i checked in at the airport lol wtf. luckily i brought an extra hand-carry to hold my things in case my luggage is off it's limits.

Ok another thing i've learnt to appreciate about Singapore's public transport, in Singapore the frequency of trains is around 3-4mins right? In australia you wait around 15-20 mins for the trains.

Central station! Errrr, got a wee bit lost trying to find the platform to Bondi Junction, thank god for all the awesome people who stopped to help me with my luggage when i'm getting on/off the trains/lift etc lol.

So after the train + bus ride, I've finally arrived at the apartment i booked for Jessica and I for our 5 nights in Sydney! It's located at the world famous Bondi Beach, just 5 minutes away from the beach, so awesome and there's so many cafes & supermarket around the area, bus stop is right in front of the apartment.

It has the scariest lift though! We actually took a video of us in it lol but it's with jessica. But it's damn mad creepy and it smells like paint and it's tiny!

When i just arrived i was like OMG WHERE THE FUCK IS THE LIFT?
Even the lift button didn't look like a damn lift button. It's just one round black tab. WTF? And you actually have to press on a latch and drag open the "inner lift door".
Hahahahaha ok i can totally imagine your "wtf are you talking about fidelis?!!?!?" face

But it IS that complicated!!! Hahahah.

But at least the apartment looks good.

Nice, clean, modern, has a mini kitchen equipped with electric stove, oven, mini fridge, water boiler etc and also a washing machine and dryer which was AWESOME cos it means we didn't have to carry dirty clothes around with us!

Can you imagine 2 weeks worth of dirty clothes omg gross

We paid around 90AUD per night for the apartment which i thought was a pretty damn good deal. Booked it though Takeabreak.com.au, listing for the apartment HERE.

Was so tired from the 8 hour flight + transport from airport to apartment lugging my 20kg bitch heavy luggage, nua around for a bit and decided to change and go check out the area around the apartment before Jessica reaches!

We were seriously idiots. Lol

We were told that it'll be spring the period we're in Sydney, so we both packed a shitload of floral spring-ish dresses, shorts & pretty spring-y tops. Hahahahah but it was really the end of the winter so it was FREEEEEZING like around 10 degrees everyday when we were in Sydney?!

I wore the above outfit and went out of my apartment and a strong gust of wind blew and i immediately turned back and wore another long sleeved thermal top.

Went down the apartment building walked for 3 minutes and my bare legs were FREEZING so i went back to the apartment to put on leggings. WTF idiot how to wear all the spring-y clothes we packed?!?!!? LOL

Then after finally getting warmed and all layered up and walking around to check out the shops around the apartment, jessica called and say she's downstairs at our apartment lol WTF

Hahahah, yep it's freezing and we're having slurpee. Slurps.
We're cabbing to Circular Quay to check out the Sydney Harbour Bridge & Sydney Opera House.

Put on our booties and off we go! Headed to Circular Quay and of course we had to take gazillion touristy photos! LOL

Finally we've reached Circular Quay, I honestly couldn't believe that I was in Aussie with Jessica!

Initially when i got my air ticket to Sydney, it was to attend leon sister's wedding but we broke up so obviously it was too awkward for us if i went ahead to attend the wedding so i thought i would travel in Australia alone for two whole weeks which would prolly be pretty sucky, two weeks alone in a foreign country can you imagine that?! I'm usually independent but two weeks is way too long to be alone and all.

But miraculously everything worked out and Jessica was there with me!
So glad i have you girl. (:

Lol but he's damn tall and his legs are mad long so Kew's one step is probably my 3 steps, and damn! Australians do love to walk a lot don't they?! Oh wells, if the weather here in Singapore was as nice as Sydney i would like to walk a lot all day and all night too.

Kew was like walking mad fast and the both of us were like desperately trying to catch up hahahaha.

I always thought that I'm pretty "cold-resistant" but i only found out after this trip that I'm not like that at all.

When we were in Sydney it was like 10 degrees and it's SO windy and ass freezing coooooold, i had to wear like 3-4 layers and thick leggings under my pants + boots, i'm totally wrapped up like a mummy already

BUT! when the wind blows i start shivering and to me it's "teeth chattering" cold but to Jessica she can just throw on a tank top, light cardigan and leggings and walk around like nothing's happening lol.

Such a stark difference between the both of us, we probably looked pretty funny walking together.

Told you Kew's mad tall! Think he's like 1 and a half head taller than me FML

Seeee, all wrapped up like a mummy but still SOOOOO cold. Hiding out at some accessories store while Kew and Jessica check out the accessories.

Lol Do you see Kew upfront looking back at us and he was probably thinking "tsk tsk WALK FASTER YOU TWO ASIAN CHICKS" then I was probably thinking "tsk tsk Jesssss fasteeeeer!"

Then we took this CBD shuttle bus and it took forever but we reached darling harbour and Kew was super excited about this new place called "Oxygen Bar" apparently it super popular in Japan and hollywood or whatever.

Jessica and I we were like, ERR WTF IS A OXYGEN BAR?
We thought it was some really cool funky bar that errrrr sells oxygen enriched alcohol or whatever, lol

BUT GUESS WHAT! NOPE it's a oxygen bar like just in the middle of the shopping mall, pretty wtf experience really, it was like 15AUD or something for 15 mins of 99% pure oxygen with aromatic properties, and they include a bottle of mineral water and ipad so you can surf during that 15 mins.

LOL LOOK AT US WTF.

LOL! Speechless really. Pretty much look like idiots for that 15 mins lol

Errrrrr, ok after 15 min of breathing in 99% "pure oxygen" and looking like an idiot i don't feel any difference. Fidelis is still fidelis. Don't feel any better, don't feel any worst lol

HAHAHAHAHAAH wtf anyway yay by then Jess and I, we were ABSOLUTELY starving already! Food makes us happier than errrr 99% pure oxygen lol!

A reader recommended that we gotta try Pancakes on The Rocks when we're in Sydney, Nadnut tried it out when she was in sydney too and she said it was a must try!

Can't remember it was tandoori chicken pizza or something but it was OK.

The crepe sounded really awesome on the menu but booooo, wasn't that great either.

OH OH OHHHHHH! The Beef Ribs is finally something i can SHOUT about, it's SO SO SO SO tender and delicious if you're ever in sydney and at Pancakes on the Rocks, MUST order the beef ribs ok. Best ribs ever.

SO MAAAADD FUUUUULL GONNA EXPLODE ALREADY! But we were at PANCAKES on The Rocks how can we leave without having any pancakes?!

So we die die ordered one to share, caramelized grilled banana with whipped cream/vanilla ice cream and pancakes can never go wrong.

Mmmmmm. Delicious. Finished it in record time.

Then it was time to go hooooooome, was a long day for us the 8 hour flight to Sydney, settling down and all.

Lol, their MRT wait damn long! The frequency of the trains is like 1 train every 15 mins ish.

OMG if singapore also like that, we impatient singaporeans will die from waiting for the trains everyday, can you imagine, our MRT is around 3-4 mins one train for them is like 15-20 mins. 0.0

Also obviously their trains are not as clean as ours too! But it's pretty cool, they have like double decked trains.

By the time we got back to our apartment at Bondi Beach, showered, talked to our boyfriends we totally concussed in bed by 12pm max!

You can apply with your fingers gently all over your face, no need for sponges or brushes, no technique needed! Just use a wee bit and spread all over it goes on like a dream. (:

And other than the Ettusais BB range, They are releasing a 2nd-edition of the Ettusais Liquid liner! This is much better than the previous Liquid eyeliner they had because it's MUCH more pigmented, long lasting (i wouldn't budget with normal rubbing etc)

Kitty wants the ever-so popular kitty eye look too! hahaha how cute we got the bring back one of the kitty along with the Ettusais eye liner.

It was featured in a popular japanese magazine too, selling like hot cakes in Japan!

The Ettusais BB Cream + Ettusais Mineral Powder was the only base makeup i packed for my 2-week Australia vacation, and it did a great job in covering my uneven skintone and imperfections.

Pasir ris dog farm, korean bbq east coast

Helloooooo, I'm finally back from Aussie, it's been an awesome 2 weeks in Sydney and gold coast and it's been 5 days since i'm back now now, and im still in the super dreamy holiday mode.

I feel that i've left my brains back in australia, so stoned. I'm still sorting out the gazillion photos Jessica & i took during our vacation so be patient, i've so got much to blog about! :D

Definitely miss my home, mummy and boyfriend when i was away this 2 weeks.. and also singapore food! Omg i'm so sick of pastas i'm swearing off them for the next few months hahaha
Ok so lemme blog about some pre-aussie trip stuff first!

The other day boyfriend got me a whole pack of strawberry pocccccccky, woohoo nom nom nom

Boyfriend went to church with me and after church we went to ikea to get some stuff then to the pasir ris farmway to visit the dog farms!

Usually on the weekends there will be many many many dog owners bringing their furbabies to the enclosed field at Pet's Mover to let their doggies run around and interact with other doggies but it happened to rain pretty heavily earlier that afternoon so only a handful of owners brought their doggies down booooo.

So glad that we both love huge, huggable dogs! Don't think i want a boyfriend who goes crazy over squeaky chihuahuas or other tiny dog that i might kill if i accidentally trip over on.

Mmmmmm! Yummilicious, went for korean bbq @ East Coast Park after checking out all the dog farms along the farmway.

Love the beef! Muahahah, but it's pretty damn expensive thou, didn't even order much and the total bill is 100 over already, boooooo.
Good thing is the service is damn good they will come and cook for you if you can't be bothered to cook like us hahahah

Crystal Jade korean bbq buffet that i had with Esther & Jayden at Nex was much more awesome! Only $30 per pax if i'm not wrong. Got so many types of marinated meat, got fish and crabs etc also, have ginseng chicken soup somemore. Yums, me likey!

Hello!

OMG! Flying off to sydney @ midnight gonna be away for 2 whole weeks!
Was a naughty girl the other day, worked half day on Saturday and i headed to the supermarket, got all my baking supplies and went home to bake!

He called & texted me but i didn't reply him because i didn't want to spoil the surprise hehe

So he briefly mentioned that he love strawberry cheesecakes but I've never actually bake cheesecakes before, previously all my successful attempts with cheesecakes were the non-baked type, still yummy, but it's just different!

So.. rushed like mad and it's finally done! Change up, drove over to boyf's place and called him (he was sleeping) and frantically shouted into the phone: "DARLING I'M DOWNSTAIRS OMG CARRYING SUPER HEAVY THINGS FASTER COME AND HELP MEEEEE!"

LOL! then he fleeeeew down, had a double surprise for him.
Cos the other day he said i look better with bangs so i took a pair of kitchen shears and chopped my long fringe. hahahaha

LOL act nerd only always wear my specs when he have like perfect vision -.-

YAY apparently his whole family thought it was yummy, so happy! (:

Btw the way i met both his parents was pretty damn funny.

Was in his room watching tv that day then his dad came home and was having dinner at the dining room so i went downstairs and half hidden behind Jeremy and said "Hello Uncle!" he was like so shocked he had the jaw dropped look + spoon with food halfway paused outside his mouth lol!

Yeah something like that, only funnier!

Then the other day i met his mum, she came back and i was like "Hello Auntie!" then Jeremy and his dad was like, "no lah, she's the evening maid." -.-

WTF WHY THEY SO CARTOON ONE.

A couple posts back i mentioned that Jeremy is cooking for me that night and I'm heading over after work right?

Lol, ok so i drove when i reached his place he was still cooking so he asked me to just come up hehe, can't stop smiling while thinking of this.

When i stepped into his place his dad gave me this skeptical/amused look and said: " 哈, this is the first time this is happening (boyfriend cooking) "

Hahahha the dad also damn humorous like boyfriend! - Like father like son
Before i came he mentioned to his dad he's cooking for me and boyfriend said his dad was super shocked and he saying "Are you sure? Eat already will go hospital or not? Monday i still have a lot of work to do don't wanna take MC leh"

Lol actually i was a bit scared also hahahha but when i remembered his maid will be "supervising" him so.. ok la hehehe but I'm really touched! Cos he said he never even cook for his ex gf or anyone, then his parents say wah whole life also never eat your cooking before now cook for girlfriend LOL!

First date with Jerry Bear!

Hello!

Took my off day last Wednesday so i can drive Grandma, Mummy and my uncle to Singapore General Hospital to accompany grandma for her check up!

Yay, wore my camel leather jacket that i got from Berska for the first time, so comfy! One of my must pack item from the upcoming Aussie trip. (:

Took around 3-4 hours until the entire check up was over, mad sleepy because it was SO early! After the check up, sent them home. Went to meet Jeremy and we headed to ICA.

Ugh I'm seriously down on my luck. On the day that i got into the car accident (i haven't even got around to replace my bonnet that's gonna cost me around $500) in addition to that, i lost my IC on the same day.

So sad! i actually really really like my 14 year old photo on my IC! ):

Oh wells! I had to do my IC, darling had to renew his passport too!

LOL please don't focus on my eye bags and dark eye rings.
Ever since we met the both of us are just turning into human walking pandas.
IT'S TERRIBLE.. but sweet!... cos we spend waaaaay too much time together/talking on the phone till dawn.

Hate how long and thick his lashes are.. so envious, Y LIKE THAT?!
Boys have such thick lashes what for?! Give me give me!!! *demanding*

Lol, after ICA we went to Strip @ Dempsey House so i could do my brazillian waxing, while i was having the treatment left boyfriend with my ex-colleague Min so they can annoy each other with their crappy-ness.

Hahahha then after i'm done, Min told me earlier on she asked him how he manage to "chase" me so quickly..
then he replied "OH, I GO BY CTE!"

WTF?! LOL!!!!

Went to Thai Accents @ Vivocity for lunch, i had my faaaaavorite Mango Sticky Rice with so much coconut sauce. Slurps.

Basically to celebrate Singapore's National Day 2011, Singapore Cable Car collaborate with OIC Singapore (Organisation of Illustrators Council) to "dress up" 46 cable cars with the artworks of 10 local illustrators of the artistic impression of Singapore.

Pretty cool experience really, other than enjoying the view with your other half/friends, you can check out the cool illustrations high up in the sky!

Called her, she's there so we took the beach tram and headed to Tanjong Beach!

Too bad she has an event to attend to so we only manage to chat for a bit,
but she's leaving for her studies in London VERY soon, so mad envious!

Somehow the sand at sentosa like become finer and soooo nice to burrow your feet in! Wonder if they bought sand from like Phuket or what hahahaha

Anyway Jessica and i kinda drifted apart when i started working and all but recently i invited her to my 21st birthday and we started hanging out again and it's been AWESOME! Hello!

Thank you for all the comments, emails, messages i've received this couple days, I'm truly so relieved that i have this blog, because no matter what I'm going through, I'm never totally alone because i have such awesome readers and friends that I've made through this blog! Although it's a truly unconventional way of making friends?!

Anyway, did a shoot yesterday morning, so early zZz some details were conveniently omitted when i was asked to do the shoot so honestly I'm not too happy about it at all.
BUT! I had fun with Jessica, Christy, Roxanne & Daphne!

After the shoot, we drove to Parkway Parade for brunch with Jessica & Christy.

Went to shop around with Jessica for accessories and some spring-ish clothes that we can wear for our Aussie trip in.. omg 17 days!!! We're gonna stay in Sydney for half the trip and then head over to Gold Coast, our vacation apartment is gonna be like minutes walk from Bondi Beach!

Jessica convinced me to get this awesome pair of white feather earrings which i thought was gonna be too long and over for me since i have like short hair right? But this morning i tried wearing only one side and styling my hair to the side and i freaking love it ♥ !

Next week is gonna be AWESOME! Monday to friday styling for New york skin solutions and Yun Nam Hair Care's beauty talkshow filming, have to reach jurong 6am everyday but what the heck i get to hangout with my ex-colleagues and they are so fun!

Then Saturday/Sunday I'm having a sponsored staycation at Quincy Hotel with a cupcake workshop and movie night! (:

Tonight after work I'm gonna head over to boyfriend's place cos he's cooking dinner for me, how sweet! Then after that I'm gonna head to helipad for a farewell party. So sad that he can't come along with me, oh wells! There's always next time. (:

Yesterday i was at his place and his 8-year old niece came for the day and he was teasing her and giving "bunny hugs -(how cute is that)?!" and checking his niece's homework. Awwwww ♥.

Hello hello! Sorry bloggie, i've been neglecting you!

Busy few weeks for me, stock take trips, photoshoots then styling for Yun Nam & New York Skin Solutions print ad shoot, fittings and shopping like mad to look for suitable clothes for the print ad shoots!

The other day i met up with Esther and Jayden for dinner,
and i told them I'm soooo busy i don't even have time to sit infront of my netbook/desktop etc, let alone blog! And they say i'm damn bo xim cos i haven't even blog about my car! Faint.

My 21st birthday is still on my to-blog-about list :/
Since my 21st i've went to like 2 other 21st birthday parties already man!

Goodness time really flies!
So my daddy bought me a Chevrolet Optra for my 21st birthday!
hahaha, it think it's worth many many birthdays accumulated together (:

Yeah, i know it's black. It's not Fidelis, at all.

Lol I've prolly heard gazillion people telling me that very same thing ever since i got my hands on it, maybe next time i'll save up and get a paint job done and change it to something more "fidel".

So.. although the exterior is not me,
the interior is definitely starting to have a touch of "me" here and there, eg:

lots of candy in the compartments, Rilakkuma who love to snap my picture everyday every moment gets to sit beside me everyday when i drive to and fro work.
(Min got the rilakkuma for me as my birthday present cos i love to camwhore!)

Heh, and my Rilakkuma tissue holder, which is damn cuddly and... weird.
Cos when somebody is driving my car and I'm sitting at the passenger seat i love to hug both the rilakkuma and i'm kinda hugging a tissue box holder damn happily?!

Then they're be like, eeeeeer seriously wtf is wrong with this girl?

After lunch @ Sun With Moon, headed to Takashimaya to walk around a bit and drove over to dempsey for some B&J!

And this is last week when big fat rilakkuma in leon's car surprised me with a bouquet of belated happy birthday roses!

Lol, then we drove to Serangoon gardens and tried this new restaurant called the SmokeHouse, the truffles linguine is simply divine, you gotta gotta try if you're a fan of truffles.

Pretty roses that i love, but Leon and I broke up again.
Won't go into details but i guess that's the best for me.

So since i already bought my ticket to australia to attend his sister wedding
(erm, of cos now i'm not going because it's so weird and awkward?!)

There's been some itinerary changes and I'm flying to Sydney
and travelling to melbourne then back to sydney again in exactly one month,
so if any of you have any recommendation on hotels, tours, must go places, must eat stuff..

How to.. get the sexy beach waves.

Do you remember the last time you spend your day at the beach
and you come back with a head full of messy sexy curls?
Who needs to head all the way to the beach to get that look!

I want the Kate Hudson, Blake Lively, Jennifer Aniston's
sexy tousled beach waves look too!
So casual and just thrown together like it's tell people,
blah i just woke up with this head of sexy, messy curls. Envious much? :p

Anyway, the other day i was at Clover doing my hair
and i wanted to have a more sexy, voluminous hairdo,
so my stylist sprayed this product all over my hair, blow dry and..
the bounce and volume in my hair lasted all day!

- which is freaking amazing for me because i have those kinda hair
that will go flat after 20 minutes even after half a can of hairspray!

So i was really curious what was the product they used, called up to ask
and it's actually the KMS Sea Salt Spray!
It's the first time i heard of such a thing called sea salt spray
but apparently it's very popular in the US.

Anyway, i googled around a bit and found that there's so many brands
making sea salt spray!

Some of the sea salt spray that received pretty good reviews:

Bumble&Bumble Surf Spray
Sedu Sea Salt Spray
Fekkai Marine Summer Hair Beach Waves
KMS Hair Play Sea Salt Spray, available for sale at Clover Hair Boutique

If you don't want to spend money on these sea salt sprays, you can even make your own at home! How amazing, i heard this "recipe" has been tried and tested and a fan of many.You will need:

a Spray Bottle (you can get at watsons/daiso)
1 tablespoon of sea salt in 6-8 oz of warm water
a dollop of cheap conditioner (any brand will do)
a small dollop of cheap hair gel

Leave some room in the spray bottle so you can add everything together and shake to mix it. You actually should go cheap on the conditioner and gel because they are of a thinner consistency so it will mix easier in the water.

Tips: You can even add a wee bit of VS/Bath&Body body spray to make it smell yummier!

So, how to actually use the product?

First wash your hair as usual, cut back on the conditioner if possible
Spray the product on your hand or on hair directly but avoid your roots
Tip your head down so your hair is hanging and blow dry with hands and Viola!

- You have those hair instead of boring flat locks!

Use a curling thong/straighten to create some curls,
it does not have to look perfect. Separate the curls and scrunch
with your hands to create the messy beachy waves look, Sexy!

Beauty: Lip care

I cannot tolerate dry, chapped lip.

In fact, to prevent that from ever happening I stash lip essence/balms everywhere.
In front of my desktop, at my office, on my dresser, in my purse.. Everywhere!

While doing my facial scrub twice a week,i scrub my lips gently with the scrub as well to remove the dead skin, and i apply lip balm constantly throughout the day.

These are some of the lip balms that i have tried, tested and now cannot live without! ♥

Burt’s Beewax Lip Balm
Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry
Shiseido Water-In-Lip
Nivea Pinkish Boost
Ettusais Lip Essence

Don’t forget to pack lip Balms with SPF for your beach holiday as well!
I totally forgot to pack lipbalms for my holiday in Phuket,
and i had burnt lips and they were peeling like crazy after being in the sun for the entire day without any UV protection.

Do you know that your lips dry out faster than any part of your face?
Licking your lips will only make it drying and does nothing to stop the chapping!

The new Kitty-Cat.

Awhile ago, leon's brother brought back a kitty cos she was stranded somewhere
and he waited for a long time and the kitty's mummy didn't come back
so he brought her home.

Hmmm, i've never really been the kitty kinda girl, but she's super cute!!

But the whole family is quite pek chek with her cos she keeps destroying the furniture and they're very scared she would jump down the window and commit suicide accidentally somemore they live on the 17th floor lol, jump down confirm gone case.

Anyway that day my peanut (guinea pig in case you dunno) was having quite a bad case of diarrhea, and i read online and they said that diarrhea is guinea pigs is very dangerous because they are usually preys so they tend to not show any weakness if they can, if they do then it might be fatal and it's really bad so i was super kan chiong take urgent leave bring him to the vet the very next morning.

and i feel that i really have to recommend them to pet owners who live in the North area.

The previous vet clinic i went to mount pleasant @ serangoon north, sucks like shit.

The vet there is absolutely AWESOME.
The vet at The Animal Doctor's was SUPER patient, very professional, really know her stuff, i really feel at ease after i left the vet unlike my experience at Mount Pleasant Vet.

Can you imagine she spend 2 whole solid hours on the consultation etc.
She really really know her stuff!

the tone of her miao is kinda like.. "MIAO????? HUH?????"
Mad cute, should record it down someday hehehe.

Anyway ninja also went for her jaaaaaaab. It's so funny she keep getting freaked out by other cats in the vet. They were really damn noisy la! Goodness.

Panasonic GF2 zoom lens test shots

I'm feeling kinda blue today, feels so wrong to be this way on a friday night!
Should be out enjoying myself instead of sulking here but whatever.
Some people just suck.

My big 'O 21st birthday party is next Saturday and Sunday.

Booked my party venue months ago, confirmed my cake and food order today
and most of the decorations are planned and done.
Spent a fortune on everything, For food and venue and decorations
so far I've already spend $2200.

I'm nuts i know. but oh wells, It's not everyday a young lady turns 21!

Lol, i sound like Hagrid in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone,
the part when he tells Harry Potter,
"It's not everyday your young man turns 11 now is it?"

Anyway, finally tried my zoom lens thingy on my Panasonic GF-2 the other day,
i haven't tried it since i got it like 4 months ago wtf lol.
I bought my GF2 as a set of two lens, the pancake lens and zoom lens.

Phuket Trip May 2011

Been pretty drained lately. Many unexpected things happening, hope everything would work out and go smoothly for me.

I think in general I live a very comfortable life, lots of people pampering me and showering me with love in all forms. So i tend to be a little.. aimless i guess?

Phuket was awesome and of course the best part was the diving at Racha Yai.
I'm aiming to earn more and hopefully to be able to go for one dive travel trip a month!

oh anyways i stayed in the same hotel as my last trip to Phuket,
Sugar Palm Grand Hillside, I blogged about the room here,
decided to go back because my last stay there was so comfortable
and i loved the pool access room so much. It was so much fun!

Cos i went with my colleague and her boyf,
so we had two pool access rooms side by side,
so time to time i'll just walk over via the pool ledge to knock
on their balcony door to chat!

So, good place to stay if you're going with a bunch of friends
and staying in different rooms!

Loved the apple console in the room!

Hahaha, obsessed with my blog even when i'm on a holiday. Guilty of charged!

Yummy lunch right smack on the beach!

After lunch, we went to rent the beach chairs to chill on the beach!
I think it's like 200 baht for 2 chairs for the entire day if i didn't remember wrongly.

The weather was amazing, pretty sunny but very windy so it didn't feel too hot while we were "roasting" ourselves on the beach chairs, chatting for hours under the summery sun of Phuket, Kata Beach.

Went to book our dive trip for the 2nd day, wanted to do Phi Phi Islands but they said that Phi Phi islands not easy for beginners, so we did Racha Yai instead!

Plus equipment/wetsuit rental and 2 dives: 3300baht.

Outfit for the trip: day 1 for dinner! haha

Mmmm, yummy. Chocolate Banana Prata! Shiok.
Damn full from dinner also squeeeeze one whole prata down my tummy hahaha.

Did i just mention how awesome the weather is on the beach?
Well it's not so perfect on the sea.

I took 2 seasick pills like 5 minutes before the diveboat left the jetty,
well too late i guess, if not the seasick pills are totally useless.

Totally forgotten to take my seasick pills that morning before we left the hotel, at least let the medicine take effect first. So rmb, if you're going island hopping etc on months with choppy sea conditions, must must must take your seasick pills like 30-1hour before leaving if you're prone to sea sickness.

It was REALLY bad man.
I had like dried pineapple chips and toast that morning that's all.
the sea sickness was so intense throughout the whole 1 - 1.5 hours journey i was just curled up in a corner and trying very hard not to puke.

But like 15 minute before we reach the dive site we were told go rig up our equipments and i couldn't take it and puked everything already. Eeeew. First time puking till i taste bile. Yucks.

But after like puking, i felt muuuuch better.
the dive was SO SO SO good and so fun,
omg super cute pufferfish bobbing all over the place!
i'm aiming to go for at least one dive trip every 1-2 month, nadnut let's go!!! :D

Bought this polka dot bikini on the way back from the beach.
650baht bargain until 350 baht! lol.

Had our breakfast just outside our hotel the next day,
i was reading Water for Elephants on my kindle.

Getting myself a cocktail on the "Bar on the move" lol so cute.
Damn cheap, one cocktail like, 89baht or something!

Hey ya, flying to hong kong in abit. Finally done packing my luggage! lol

Went to Studio M a couple of weeks back for a staycation with some friends,
to just chill, play games and talk rubbish!

My first time at Studio M, The rooms are pretty cool, loft type
with a chilling area on the first level and stairs to the 2nd level with the bed/tv.

Awesome choice for a staycation with like 4-6 friends,
more than that would really be a squeeeeeze.

Went chilling by the pool and i went for dinner with my parents
and grandparents to celebrate mother's day!

Went home to change and cabbed over the Studio M again~

Lol, black was walking arnd with cheesecakes and dunno what else and feeding us before the election results were announced and our drinking games start!

I'm back in Singapore from my Phuket/Bangkok trip, i looooooved phuket.

Missed blogging when i was away, since i came back to Singapore,
I've started on my new job and i was too pre-occupied with everything new
and i didn't have time to blog either, boooo.

Tmr i'm flying off again for a week for a buisness trip,
I'm homesick and internet-less-sick!

Beauty Review: Melliesh Shading/Bronzer falsies

I used to hate bronzers, because it gave me a muddy dirty look but after that,
i realized it was just because that shade did not suit my skintone,

Applying bronzers can help to sculpt those cheekbones
and add warmth to your skin!

Was using the bronzer from Smashbox previously:

The SmashBox Bronze Light Duo & a fluffy kabuki brush from Coastalscents.com.

Make this funny face and apply bronzer along this line to sculpt your cheeks
and add warmth to your skin, apply some on your jawline
and a wee bit on the bridge of your nose too.

Then apply a peach/pink blush on the apples of your cheek.

Recently i received two items from Mellish, one of their bronzer & two pairs of falsies

I like it that the Mellish bronzer is not too dark/dirty looking, very natural when it goes on!

Received a box of falsies too!

Don't know why but it doesn't really suit me, kinda make my eyes look kinda droopy.
Maybe i've to try and use eyelid tape when i'm wearing this falsies, idk?

The mail man came by and left two big parcels by my door, guess what's in there? (:

One of the parcels is my loots from my recent drugstore spree!

Bought my favorite Palmer's Body Firming Butter & Bust Firming,
it cost like only 1/3 of the $ to order from drugstore.com as compared
to buying from Watsons in Singapore! Damn cheap!

That's why i was like, omg faster buy extra to stock up!
(damn kiasu i know, but it's really a great body firming product!)

Also bought my Vitamin E, much cheaper on drugstore.com too,
and Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque, best for combi/oily skin like mine. (:

Driving licence, The Lion King

Was watching Fringe on my desktop when the mailman came by,
he was like damn cute la! Super happy looking and keep saying:
"whoa!!! your driving licence!!!"

Lol, dunno why he's so damn high but damn funny la!

Not bad! Quite fast, took my TP on the 21st April and got my license on the 6th,
not even one month!

Woots! (:

Went to chinatown pearl centre to change currency
for my phuket/bkk/hongkong trip, the exchange rate is damn good la!

Thai baht, 1SGD = 24BAHT
HKD, 1SGD = 6.25HDK!!!

My last trip to hong kong the exchange rate was 5 lor!

Went to crab party for dinner and we had salted egg buttercream crab, shiok!
siao one, the crab was 3kg man, and there was only 2 of us eating wtf.
3kg of crab!

After dinner, i was up for a HUGE surprise last night,
was tricked into thinking i'm gonna go MBS for some "activity"
that involves running around (wtf?)

... anyway!!!

He brought me to watch The Lion King instead of some wtf "activity",
LOL OMG!!! I really really really wanted to watch it and i LOVE it so much.

I've always have an appetite for pancakes, no matter day or night.

So of cos nothing stopped me from checking out Strictly Pancakes for dinner!
Ordered a Butter Garlic Prawn Pancake and Apple Cinnamon Pancake,
idk, i still can't really accept the concept of savory pancakes, so i stuck to sweet.

And nope, i did not regret.

Salted butter and maple syrup for the savory pancake.

Awwww, because love take time.

Waited for maybe.. 15 mins for our pancakes?
a wee bit disappointed i didn't get my Nutella Milkshake, they were out of them for the night.
